Military Spending and the Profit Rate under Capitalism: Adem Elveren

In this video, Professor Adem Elveren, a member of the Security in Context's Financialization and Militarism working group, presents the main findings of his latest book, The Economics of Military Spending: A Marxist Perspective (Routledge 2019).

Professor Adem Elveren is an associate professor of Economics, History, and Political Science at Fitchburg State University. His other publications include Brain Drain and Gender Inequality in Turkey (2018 Palgrave Pivot), Gender and Society in Turkey: The Impact of Neo-Liberal Policies, Political Islam and EU Accession (edited with Saniye Dedeoglu, 2012, I.B. Tauris) and several journal articles.
