Dr. Sonia Boulos is an Associate Professor of international human rights law at the Faculty of Law and International relations, Antonio de Nebrija University. She holds a Doctorate Degree in Juridical Science from the University of Notre Dame, USA. She was awarded the Fulbright doctoral scholarship for her doctoral studies. Her research focuses on the international protection of human rights. She has worked, inter alia, on the Palestinian minority in Israel, gender equality, and the use of force in international law. Her articles have been published in the Journal of Business Ethics, the Journal of Holly Land and Palestine Studies, the International Journal of Human Rights, Politics and Governance, Media and Communication, and Profesional de la Información.
She is a member of SEGERICO- The Research Group on Security, Risks Management and Conflict, at Nebrija University, a multi-disciplinary research group that works on the analysis of vulnerabilities and modern-day conflicts. She is a recurrent research fellow at Mada al-Carmel Research Center in Haifa where she was invited to lead a research project on Ecclesiastical Family Courts in Israel. She has participated in 7 competitive international and national research projects serving as the Principal Investigator in 2 of them. Boulos serves as the co-editor of Palestine/Israel Review.
